FENATE, in this Fourth Edition of the largest event of the category of Therapists in Brazil, wishes to welcome the Brazilian and Foreign Therapists,
That at the end of this Congress we will have the definitions of the directions to be taken to formalize this Professional Category in Brazil and other Continents.
The Officialization of the Category of Therapists and the Paths of Institutionalization in Brazil and Other Continents
There are several struggles of the category of Therapists in the most diverse countries, in the quest to work within legality and recognition. Therapists from Portugal recently went to the streets to require inclusion in the 2013 Law. In Brazil, the category of therapists is contemplated in Law 8080, but not included in fact and in law. This is the great goal and theme of this Congress.
Irmã Socorro Award
The "IRMÃ SOCORRO" Award was created to contemplate the best exposition work of theme theses of the Therapists Conference. This year the theme: "INSTITUTIONALIZATION OF THE PROFESSION OF THERAPISTS IN BRAZIL: PATHWAYS AND PERSPECTIVES" is a more accurate reflection on the importance of the Law that will regulate this Professional that is not yet included in the programs of the Ministry of Health.

Dear Therapist from Brazil and all Continents
Fenate turns 13 on June 8, 2017, and the greatest gift is the organization of this Congress, where we will be together to celebrate. It's been thirteen years of work and many challenges aiming at the recognition of the Category. I believe we all have matured. Between errors and hits, one tried. And at this important time, when Therapies are increasingly recognized, we need to join forces to defend our space and press the powers to recognize the THERAPIST professional. I repeat: the therapies are recognized, but the therapist, not yet. Pay attention to this.
The I International Therapists Conference comes to add to this struggle, since almost all the continents of our Planet Earth have been experiencing the same challenges. We hope to join forces to support each other against the forces that try to prevent therapists from developing in the world.
I'm counting on you, Therapist friend, and I welcome all the foreign therapists. Let's join forces to show that we are ONE.
